I used the COVID shutdown to finally get my gear all set up again (after about 12 years away!) and created a bunch of new tracks! You can catch a preview of the new track "77" here on the website…
New track from 2020! This is a preview of one of the new tracks I created during the shutdown in Spring and early Summer. I plan to release them as an album, but don't have a label to release them on as yet. Enjoy the preview and I'd love to hear what you think!
vcam is the electronic music project of James Long. Now based in Snoqualmie, WA (the setting for the old TV series Twin Peaks) and surrounded by the Cascade mountains and an endless sea of evergreen trees, I create electronic listening music. Inspired by artists like Autechre, Aphex Twin, Lexaunculpt, Funckarma, early Funkstorung, Richard Devine, Arovane, Andre Esterman, Boards of Canada, Squarepusher, Plaid, The Black Dog, Novel 23, Bola, and so many others, I create electronica that is at times abstract and experimental, with evolving rhythms, textures, and melodies.
Lots of new vcam tracks are coming soon! I've been hard at work during the pandemic, creating tons of new material that I plan to release later this summer. In the meantime, the long out-of-print Shaelslip EP will be available on iTunes very soon, along with a bunch of unreleased tracks on a 2-volume compilation.
